I just celebrated my third year of being in business and it has been an amazing experience. I have had the honor and privilege of meeting amazing people, partnering with other businesses and continuing my education as a business owner and as a decorative painter
the greatest lessons I have learned as a small business owner is being comfortable with the ebb & flow of entrepreneurship. I have great days, amazing days and sometimes I even have days where I miss the comfort of a 9 to 5.
I’ve learned the last three years the highs + lows of business just comes with the territory, as does re-branding, evolving and expanding.
Which is where we are today! Back in December, I decided I wanted to refresh the store with a makeover. While brainstorming the changes I wanted to make with my family and friends, I realized I was in the stages of a complete re-brand.
My style and store direction had changed since I first opened the store and my business name Boho Upcycle – no longer fit with the next stage I was moving toward. It was a difficult decision, seeing as Boho Upcycle was my baby, but I also trusted my gut instinct and knew it was time to take another leap in a new direction.
Today, I am thrilled to announce the arrival of Arora Boheme, a design, gift, and decor studio. The new design studio will now have a strong home décor component with a line of pottery, baskets, rugs, pillows, and home décor books.
We will continue to sell Arore Boheme one-of-a-kind furniture pieces, Chalk Paint® decorative paint by Annie Sloan, and many items to help create DIY projects – at home.
Being a place where locals can come, poke around and, talk to someone about what they want to create in their space at home, is still central to what my business means to me.
I started what feels like ages ago, because it was a calling to my artistic spirit and as an entrepreneur. I look forward to introducing Arora Boheme and sharing the second part of my adventure with everyone.
